What did I do last year

People in my age should do some kinda review of what I've done for the whole year, haha... Let's start doing it from now on... it's never too late, ya?

My 2009 started with my Japanese trip~~ What a great start :D~~ I spent my first day of my new year in Kyoto~~ it's like ages ago but indeed just year passed.... haha... seems that I've done quite a bit of things this year~ Starting a year with traveling seems to be quite a good sign :D hahaha... We all love to start with traveling, don't we?

I thought it's still quite a lot of place in Asia I do wanna go and I still never (although I m planning my Europe trip for this summer :D) yea.. and it cost much less~~~ I so much wanna go Thailand and Philippine and I was saying I had to go to Singapore last year but never have a chance... so much wanna go there for diving somewhere, um... just not having a company to go with... anyway~~ I did have some nice trip around in 2009

Bali (MAR09)
Kinn n Bali 2009 -66
This is the only photos we've taken together! haha...

I went there with Frederick in March, just before I went to California. It's kinda chill holiday after some hard work in HK... haha... ya.... Fred is a nice person but I guess he would be a good travel partner if he didn't complain too much during the trip :P haha.... and surprisingly, nothing really happened~~

California (APR-JUN)
Kinn n US-09-0142-Big Sur
I didn't go too much around this year as the schedule was tight but I did have some great time with Darius and Amber camping in Big Sur for a weekend!~~

Sai Kung and around HK(JUL09)
Went back to HK and met Stephane~ lol... found that Shek O is quite a nice beach to hang around even I was just back from LA~ haha... I also hang out with Arthur and Debby quite a bit in Sai Kung~ It did surprised me when I saw quite a lot of nice and beautiful places in Sai Kung.

TW - surf (SEP09)
09 TW-018-Yilan
It's quite an interesting trip indeed. I never thought I would go to TW by myself but I went to Yilan, Taiwan and had 2 lovely surf days~~ haha... seems that I m really extremely lonely.... no one even wanna join me... I wasn't entirely alone tho.. I met a taiwanese of mine who go surfing every week with her bf~~ waowao... and of course I met Joanne and she's super nice to me ^__^

TW - basketball (OCT09)
09 TW2-134-TP

Went to Taipei for the basketball tournament! haha... how amazing~~ yea... I met some new dingding basketball friends and they were about going to submit the application~ Probably I was just tooooo much alone, I didn't even think about it for a second and decided to join~~ haha... yea... and I met Joanne again for a dinner and some drinks~~ :D happy happy... and I went to Taichung to meet WeiWei. We went to an amazing Motel stay for a super relaxing night... I hang around the I-dont-know-where part of Taichung and love it a lot... I would go there again someday for sure~~

And then, here are some important people I've met or very important to me this year.

Daat, Leo & Tracy are always the most important friends of mine... meeting them at least every second week on average~~ I am seeing Tracy much less then before tho... she's just super busy. I could hardly meet her although my work is so flexible. See? I m such a considerate person haha.... I probably spend 70% of my time in the office in CWB, being so flexible time-wise and never refuse you guys for meeting up... You guys really have to hit me up while I m in HK!

How amazing to meet Stephane again in HK! Everything on him are pretty much the same...

I met Marcus through Felix Wang~~ And Marcus is kinda the first "datable" I'd met for long time? haha... and it's just nothing happen. I guess it's not a bad thing tho. Anyway, he started my meeting-a-lot-of-possible-ones-but-none-of-them-for-real year.

boat trip-fisheye-20
I met popo from a boat trip organized by Sophie long time ago... (I went there with Mr. Lew btw.) and somehow, this time I went back to HK, we became very good friends :) she's an unbelievably innocent cute girl hahaha...

I met Willis again for the office~ He is kinda my VIP this year :) lol Obviously he rent me the place to work :) and he does help me a lot and give me advice on a lot of things... wanna give him a big hug anytime~ but he probably don't use to it although he's western mind...

I met a lot of dingding basketball friends this year... which is one of the happiest things in 2009. Most of them are very cool basketball players same as me :P... and some of them play very well too~~

I thought Wilfred could be the one but yea... He's super nice and kinda presentable too but it's pretty hard to get along with ppl are working in entirely different field I guess. And I think personality-wise, he's not what I can really get alone with. and he's a bit too nervous on everything...

I've met WeiWei from internet and met him in personal from my TW trip. He's pretty cool I think... He Studied and worked in NY for years in interior and back to TW and went into fashion.. balbalbabla... I never seen his work tho and we never have time to really understand each other... I think it's me (but not just me)... it's almost impossible to make it happen especially we are not living in the same place from the very beginning.

I think I would count German in as a proper one coz I really changed my status (from available to invisible :P) for him. Although I did found it wasn't a wise move within a few weeks, it's a few moment I really thought it's real this time. Anyway... he's super nice and care... um... but I just can't stand with part of his personality. It's not even a bad part of personality I guess, but just something I don't feel easy with it. um... anyway...

I met Rayn loooong time ago indeed on internet. Finally got to meet up at the end of 2009~~ yea... he's cute... and tall, and thin, and looking like a character in mega as Daat Daat said... um... yea... hahaha and he is a bit slow on everything... and... lalalalala~~

Lew is back from NZ! Shit! How could the feeling be so strong until now?! um... probably because I've never got it or I thought I've got it for some time but end up I've been told I wasn't really. But he said he might just simply doesn't need a relationships in his life. I don't know... I guess maybe his family? or it must be some reason that he say it. um... just let it be... as I always do.

Yea, and I met Jason Choi from a TV commercial project. He's a musician from people mountain people sea. He gonna help me on my animation which I've been working on for a bit too long~~ haha woohoo~~ it will be done this year 2010 for sure! lemme do some more research on competition today!

I've been a bit lazy on works this year. but I m not totally useless this year neither. :P

At least I've got my a107 registered finally! haha... although it shouldn't be seen as anything has been done, yea, it means something... means something to me only...

The "Love card book" is seriously one of the most upsetting project I've ever worked on.

A set of new packaging for pop has been done~ I still like the previous design I've done with Petra better but ya... as Petra said we may have to listen to ppl sometimes. Yea anyway... I wouldn't feel shame on showing ppl the products that's the key~

ooops... Watsons TVC with Sun-promotion... This is a project that I would feel shame to show ppl... haha wouldnt even let anyone know about I've done a project like this even... :P But it's not totally a waste of time to be involved in this project neither... I've met Jason and he said he could help me on my animation :D wooohooo~~

Poododoodo... I just remember we've been talking about this project for almost a year! It's been moving too slow seriously. If everything has to be perfect before it launch, i guess no business in the world would happen. Guys, let's get it started and see what happen. and keep it running if it works!

A project that's been moving even slower... my lovely cake project~~ I've been working on it since I was in London!!!! OMG... it's still on my computer and never release... it's not right like this... >_<

My saving target had been almost made. I am not sure if I should say I had made it indeed, coz if I count the money from Sun-promotion for the TVC in, the target was definitely archived. But the payment had been received on January 2010 indeed although the works' been done on 2009... haha... anyway... I now have some saving... see if it can help me building my business a bit... :)

Switch of my blog

Just found that the last 10 posts I've made, they were all about the movies I've seen... I think it's the most boring posts they are :P... and it's no one really read my blog anyway, but in case, it's still someone still interested in my life in US, please follow the link below, http://a107.com/us

Public Enemies (6)

Johnny Depp and Christian Bell is the 2 actors that I love the best, but they don't really help the boring story.. Well, I guess if it's taken like 20 years ago, it might be okay. I do understand why ppl said the story is like a HK ganster movie after seeing it... even having a good art direction, everything in the movie are nicely crafted and they all go in detail, colour was great, soundtrack was nice, Johnny keeps his great acting (Christian Bell is really not suit for the charactor). I know I don't need to see this movie but yea.. that's the movies we should see on the flight ya? :D haha...

Where the Wild Things Are (8.5)

I so much didn't want to see this movie on the flight! But it's 14 hrs here, how could I hold myself back?! haha.... yea... Where the Wild Things Are, I've just seen it on my flight to LA... I so much feel sorry for all of you dont have a chance seeing it in HK guys... hahaha... it's such an amazing movie seriously~ The moster are super nicely done on the details, as well as the motions and especially the facial expression! I do love the place they built with Max's commond. I haven't seen any of the original comic and I can't really compare, but I do like the randomness of how does he get along with the mosters :D Yea... How great is it when you say you are the king, then you are the king :) Btw, where the movie taken is probably very close to where I m going and I m sure I've been in some of the scenes in the movie. It does add value to me :D Maybe because I've been there and I so much feel lucky that I've been those place in my life.... Maybe if you never been there, you wont feel how amazing it is. but well, it's such a beautiful place anyway no one would dislike it I supposed. I do find it jumping from the "real" world into (and out of) the moster world a bit too fast... I didn't like what happened in that real world really. It didn't really tell anything or maybe what it tells didn't impress me... I dont know... it's just going too fast and Max (the kid) randomly running away from home. And the ending too, he just suddenly feel that he has to go home and he leaves... If I were the director, and I has to have him starting the adventure so quickly, I would take off all the lead in part... It's not a rational move anyway... I will definitely see it again, probably find a DVD or something. So, let me know if you wanna borrow from me when I'm back :D

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (8.5)

Really can't understand how could ppl make such an ugly poster for such a cool movie! this is almost the only acceptable move poster I've seen around and it's from Japan obviously. What are those American doing (sorry it's only to those American who does that ugly poster<--(click on this and you see why I m so bothered)?!

It's such an highly creative one. I wouldn't say all the scenes inside are super great but from the whole idea to every little parts inside the movie, it's just full of weird imaginations~~~~ Nothing really needa to explain in this movie, just go and see it and enjoy some imaginations from these people.
nice art directions, and I do like that randomness of how everything happened even the name of the movie. Maybe it means something but I bet it must be add-on afterward for some other reasons.. Btw, it's quite a lot of Dali's scenes in the movie which makes it quite surreal but a bit familiar~~~ love it love it~~~

Whip It (8)

A move that I thought from the same director of Juno before going into the cinema. It doenst really matter, really... I do find it interesting. Probably the subject itself, the roller derby, is very interesting thing to know about. It does help~~~ and Ellen Page is so cute :)
It's just a very very teenage movie, haha and it always good to see (to my age). It reminds me a bit our age... haha, nono... probably because we are in this age and we all experiencING it that makes it so real to see :D:D hahahhaa~~ Anyway this is about how we grow up, this is about our first love, this is about us~~ and you must love this movie if you are not too far from this age forgetting what's just happened on us~~ lalalala... seriously it's a good movie.

Winged Creatures

An interesting movie. Everything started with a murder in a restaurant and ended there. It's a nice story I have to say... it's like a butterfly effect. The way they edit the movie does help the story become more interesting. It keeps us watching. The ending wasn't that surprising but I did enjoy the whole movie. Yea~~ give it a go if you find it.

A Simple Noodle Story

I actually found it an interesting story and we see that a bit crazy mind of the director. I think he handle this kinda story between a few ppl better than those massive thousand ppl scenes. What I like this movie was it does has it own character that you wont see it from other movies... the colour and the location chosen (middle of nowhere) and the timeless background, which makes the movie more interesting. The weird ending, the
What I didn't like this movie was those supposed to be funny movements. I dont know... maybe I just don't get that too mainland Chinese joke or what. That's not funny to me~~ I think it's good that Zhang Yimou get back to this kinda movie making the Chinese movie industry more interesting.

Sherlock Holmes (6.5)

I guess it's not a bad movie, but I just don't like it. I so much wanted to leave the cinema after an hour. I dontk now why I felt it so strongly coz I didn't find it that bad. Maybe the actors act in a way that I don't like, or maybe the story is just totally totally fully very very too much predictable, or maybe I dont know... It's just too chessy I guess. Everything... everything in the movie, each move of the actor was just trying (too hard) to say we are cool, we can we are pretty damn smart, we are so unbeatable, we can do everything, we know everything, all details, no one single thing that we don't know. I just hate that feeling.... hahaha... I dont know, Leo likes it, Daat likes it..... probably just me but I kinda felt bad after watching it.

Élève libre (7.5)

I think it's a good movie which's taken from a very French point of view~ Of course I m not a French nor knowing French very well... but it's a very French thinking that I observed from Stephane and some other movie~ Yea~ I do think it's a very good movie to show what kinda environment of ppl grow up from some other countries~ and how different is our culture compare to others~ If you think, yea, it's just a movie, and I can tell you, it's actually true and it's probably quite common in some other part of the world. :)

Bodyguards and Assassins

Um... I actually think it is not a good movie at all that no one really need to see it... It's just a movie that fit all into the boundaries from China not stepping any lines, trying to please some stupid ppl who blindly love their country without thinking what's better for their country. I m sorry to say but it's a typical, non-creative, a-lot-of-stars kinda movie. And the visual is not even nice. The story is boring, the actors are not acting that great... yea.. it's a lot of movie stars in the movie but it;s just not right. The director spends 10000 piece of films to tell how the ppl contribute their life to protect the "father of China", and each single film was trying to tell us how moving and tragic it was~ isn't it a bit too much? We can see they have plenty of budget to make the thing looks nice but that's all money can buy. Money can buy a lot of hardwork from people. But what money cannot buy (for this movie) is a tiny creative thought which pretty depends on the director I guess. It's just simply a boring movie without any deep thought behind it. Unfortunately, It's for the general public who don't give any thinking to what they see.

Btw, the scene that Leon Lai act in it, who looks like a crazy person speaking and acting like crazily, is probably the only not-as-boring part. He does add some value to the movie but the director who put the Lee Ka Yan shot at the end of the scene that reiun the whole thing (does he actually think it's a sense of humor?!), making the whole movie even worse! 6 points is for the hardwork for the whole movie, and minor 1 is what the director does to the movie.

Avatar (7.5)

Um... I've seen this movie twice. the first time I saw it, I did find it a very good one. From the CGs to the........ um well... I think this movie is all about CGs, I dont really know what can I comment other than CG~~ hahaa... and I didn't expect this movie more than that anyway. A lot of scenes are very very beautiful and the story is super simple. I guess that's what make it a very popular movie. Obviously, marketing does help a lot. The 3D must-see movie kinda strategy lead the whole huge successful is doubtless for sure.

Okay, the first time I saw it, it wasn't a good seat at all. It's pretty much at the very right side of the screen and it's kinda hard to see very clearly what's happen in the movie especially with the 3D glasses. I guess it was the whole atmosphere and the pretty scenes, I did found it a very good movie to look at. But when I saw it the second time, I do find it not as good. t's looking very much like computer games scenes and they don't really look original.. Well I guess it's not that important indeed... as long as most of the people find it original, who cares about those gamers... haha but then I kinda dislike the acting quite a bit, although it's not much in the movie. You know the bad guy looks really bad...

Btw, I m not sure if it's true, but the later close up scenes of the Avatar were probably done quite a bit later than the wide shoots. haha... they looks much much better than the wide shoots really...

Yea, if you haven't seen it yet, go and have a look. At least you know what everyone's talking about. And when it's not even a talking point no more, um... yea... it's nice to see it but not a must-see movie really~~~ haha...

Synecdoche, New York (?)

It's a story about a drama director. He's got an drama award (with a massive prize) at the very beginning of the movie which allow him to prepare another creation and that's what the whole movie about. It's taken like all the rest of his life to prepare and never really ended.

I don't really know how to rate this movie seriously. I just found it a cool idea and super complicated thought in this movie and I did enjoy most of the movie especially the middle part of it, feeling I can't miss any single conversation in it. But when it come to almost the end I guess it's just a bit too long and seems to be never ended. I did find it a bit boring at the almost ending part.

It does lead to a lot of thinking after the movie. If you ask me weather I like the movie, I would give it a yes but when you ask me what if I think about it, I would probably say complicated and a bit boring at the end~ haha... doesn't seems to be some reasons for liking a movie, but that's quite true... Okay ... if I have to rate it, I would give it a 7.5...
:D:D~~~

The Storm Warriors II, 風雲II (7.5)

People keep saying this movie is kinda disappointing. I guess it's more about what do ppl expect before going in to the cinema for this movie. Well I never really see a single comic of it and I guess I can't really judge its story which I never expect from this movie. What I expected from this movie was a lot of nice CGs and stuff and probably some cool sounds effect, etc and I do think this 90 mins in the cinema didn't upset me at all. No matter how much similar effect we've seen from "300" shown in this movie, I think no one can say, they did a bad job on the CG part here... and they do have some nice effect I never seen on other movies on some fighting scene.

Well, the acting for Tze Ting Fung and ah Sa do bother me a bit :P but other than that, I think everything are quite reasonable and kinda cool. And again the CG does help... I think, when you have some extra time, wanna have some not-too-much-brain-exercise entertainment, go for it~

Indeed I'm not sure if I really did~~ I think i was a bit too much in love with my illustration project~~ yea but really thanks Louie spent time to talk to me trying to explain or comfort me watever~~ it's not the best ending but at least I know I didn't waste time and pissing ppl off~~ it's not that I can't do it but all abt communication. And it's wrong move from the beginning. That guy called Calvin, I understand but shame on wat you did as a creative~~ it does show how narrow minded you are as a person!!!

Apollo 13 (9)

Finally I could spare a quality 2 hours for this movie and it didn't disappointed me! I think I've seen a part of it long time ago and I did think I had to enjoy it when I really hv the time to~~ it's such a good movie! Although it's been taken like 15 years ago, I do find all the details and special effect as good as the Star Trek last year~~ I guess it's all about how much efford and how serious the director and all the crew treat the quality. Its such a great story that had really happened (has it? Haha it's looks like it dose~~ lol)

My last 20sth birthday~

My 29th bday~ German reminds me it's my last 20sth bday~~ Honestly 20sth does mean something to me.. I guess it's to everyone really... Don't know what can a person like me do by the age of 30? Hope that I can have time to do a review of a list of things that I had done so far in my life. Of course these are important to me but what more important is what will I do with what I've built from my earlier life before 30 haha... Better have some plans before it's come... .\/. I have a year to think about it still~~~

The best thing of having a chance to work in the state for Pixi is that I can have a few months that I can stop my busy life, clean up myself physically and mentally, think, plan and get something done! I love my life so far~ :)

It a bit struggle in my 28 unexpectedly... on work and on love life....
I did get some project from HK clients but none of them gave me a good memory~ the Sony's project was cancelled becoz they could use the design due to the production cost, etc~ The Watson's TVC end up was really crap and I really feel shame to have a project done as it is. The card book illustrations project was a piece of shit as well... I hate these hk ppl who don't even respect their own creative industry and other creatives.

I do have something archived tho... I've spent my first few months to be in the state... and came back to HK for the summer~~ and found a fabuious place (in Willis' office) for my studio without spending too much on rent~~ :) Willis is super nice and I guess he is my no.1 "貴人" in my 28th for sure~~ :D My kinda studio runs quite well for now... I think I will need someone to work for me pretty soon~~ I haven't archived my saving target but it's not too far from it.... I've started working the poododoodo website with Debby and Arthur~~ it will rock~~ I know it~~ :) I have done an animation with Leo again~ we didn't win on anything but it was a great one~~ :D haha... at least I think it is....

will add things on if I remember anything important~

Sliimy~~

The first time I heard about his song... I did think it was a she~~ very nice voice and ascent~ haha... but when I see the MV, i just couldnt believe my eyes... It doesnt seems to me it possible to have this voice came out of this face!~~ I do find him ugly sorry :P He has good voice anyway... and that's all a singer need :) love it love it...~~ and it's an super cute MV for his song :) love him more~~

Thirst (7)

Had a very nice morning yoga and have my computer fixed finally. Back to office at 3 haha and leave at 4 to meet Lew :) Tried to find the secondary school ties for Lloyd... but seems that they are not selling in the school uniform shops but in school only!! very ma fan~~~ ~_~ my plan b is to ask chow chow to get my mother school ones for him~~ haha... at least I can have it "job done" :D Did some shopping and it's movie time~

Back to the movie. A movie from the only Korean director I would pay for a ticket to see (Chan-wook Park). Early from Oldboy, I was already a fans of him. His does create a lot of new treatment and ways to film! soooo fucking talented director~~ This time it's sooooooo bloody bloody! It's a bit out of control when it come to its end tho... a bit over really... I did fall asleep a bit at the beginning only because I was too tire but probably not bcoz of the movie itself... It's really a cool one until it's become a totally vampire movie... The good thing is it doesn't give away a bad feeling in those bloody scenes as a lot of horror movie does. It's even a bit arty~~ esp the way of how the blood spraying out. I can tell it's a result from a lot of thought and test~~ A lot of black humor in the movie too. The husband was acting great after he died haha that added a lot of points to the movie :D The ending is kinda expected but not annoying... The last scene was a bit too much tho... the shoes.... um... I did enjoy the movie tho~~

Had a lovely dinner with Lew... and he walked me to the minibus stop... nice nice.

The Union - The Business Behind Getting High (7.5)

A rehabilitation movie for cannabis. A reasonably informative documentary saying loud why Cannabis should be banned in many ways... Why it's not having as serious influences as even coffee, not to mention it's much least harmful than cigarette. It's kinda nice to know more about something what I've been smoking (quite a few times :P) is actually safe. And I do like the round up message from the movie... haha... see it~

風聲The Message(7)

Recommended by Rachal, The Message is actually quite a good movie. Except the 3D graphics looks a bit rough, the whole movie is very tense from the beginning till the end~ The background is the Sino-Japanese war in China but it's nothing really about the war but the fight between people's mind. I put it in the can-see category. :D

In love with Emiliana Torrini

Listening to Emiliana Torrini songs lately... I do love her voice~~ ^__^

Distric 9 (8)

It is a documentary like sci-fi movie :D such a cool idea~~ some parts of the movie can be improved but it's still highly recommended~~ :D

La Mala Educación (8.5)

It's the best Spanish movie I've seen so far... The story is kinda usual and the director tells the story in a very interesting way as well... love it~~ :)The main characters are handsome that add a lot of points too :D haha...although I dont think they act particularly good... :P btw, the version I've seen was Taiwanese version... I m not sure about its translation really... haha... the hknese version probably won't be better tho... haha... kinda frustrating when it comes to non-english western movies... they always have bad translations ><...

DAY 1 250909

DAY 2 260909

DAY 3 270909

DAY 4 280909

Surrogates

Will突然很high~~

DAY 5 290909

I kinda hate the feeling of getting on flight on my own which I used to do for the past 10 yrs. And I did imagine to wait for flight with someone in the last few time~~ wawawa~~~ I probably jus need a company to go some relax trip instead to go by myself~~ haha I'm suddenly thinking I never go travel with daat daat n leo lei~~ next time hv to go somewhere with them sin duk~~ :) I hv enough travel on my own!!!

Orphan(6)

It could be a good movie if it doesn't tell who is the murder all the time throughout the movie. Why don't they keep it until the end?! really weird~~~ the only unexpected thing is almost everyone died at the end~ It is not bad... I think the soundtrack does help a lot on building the mood.
